About Us
At the United Christian Welfare Society (UCWS) - Old Books Bank, our primary mission is to ensure that the right to education reaches every single child. We strongly believe that knowledge grows by sharing, not by keeping it locked away in cupboards.
What We Do
Collection and Distribution of Used Books: We collect old school textbooks, college academic books, storybooks, and competitive exam guides from parents and students. After a meticulous quality-checking and sorting process, these books are distributed with utmost dignity to underprivileged students right at the beginning of the new academic session.
Stationery & Complete Kit Support: A textbook is incomplete without a blank notebook to write in. Therefore, through financial contributions, our organization also provides brand-new notebooks, pencils, erasers, sharpeners, scales, and other essential stationery items to underprivileged children, ensuring they have a complete educational package.
Provision of New Books: In cases where curriculum changes or specific subjects lack available used books, we utilize our funds to purchase brand-new books so that a child's learning never stops.
Our Vision: "Donation with Dignity" Our goal is not just to help people clear out their cupboards, but to empower underprivileged students by providing them with high-quality educational resources while preserving their self-esteem. The small pencil notes left on the margins of your donated books often act as a silent guide, mentoring an unknown child through difficult equations.
