Trisha is a sweet little girl who joined our center three months ago. She is only five years old. We saw her begging on the streets. I called her and asked, "Why do you beg?" With innocence, she replied, "I beg because I want to eat tasty things." I said, "Come and study." She immediately responded, "I want to become a teacher. Will you teach me? I don’t have money." I smiled and said, "You can start studying from today." Hearing this, she became very happy. The next day, she came with her mother and younger brother. We enrolled her and gave her free books, notebooks, pencils, and erasers. She was delighted. Now she comes to study every day. Her parents work as daily wage laborers. At home, she also takes care of her younger brother. She is a very fast learner. She often tells me, "Please teach me and make me a teacher. Then I will also teach everyone for free." Earlier, she never went to school, but now we have got her admitted to a nearby government school. We also provide her favorite food so that she happily comes to study every day. We do not want any child to lose their dreams because of a lack of resources. Our effort is to educate such children and inspire them to become self-reliant. A small effort of ours can become the turning point in someone’s life. Your support inspires us to teach such children and shape their future.
