Anadi Foundation

Anadi Foundation is a Bihar-based non-profit organization established in 2009 by a group of students and teachers from the University of Delhi. The organization is committed to empowering rural communities by creating sustainable livelihood opportunities, preserving traditional crafts, and promoting inclusive social development. Its work focuses on strengthening local economies while ensuring that cultural heritage and indigenous skills continue to thrive.

The foundation primarily works with women artisans, helping them gain financial independence through skill development, entrepreneurship, and market access. It promotes traditional art forms such as Mithila Block Printing, Sujani Embroidery, and Mithila Painting, while also working in areas like vocational education, agriculture extension, social research, and environmental conservation. Through these initiatives, Anadi Foundation aims to improve the quality of life of marginalized communities and encourage self-reliance.

Over the years, the organization has launched several impactful initiatives, including Eastern India's first Hand Block Printing Training Centre in Darbhanga, the Rangshilpi Handicrafts Producer Company to support artisan-led enterprises, and the Anadi Institute for Social Research and Action (AISRA) for research and innovation in rural development. It also runs Matri Seva Sankalp, which supports elderly women with essential supplies, and promotes youth engagement through its Anadi Sports Initiative. Together, these efforts reflect the foundation's mission of creating sustainable, community-led development while preserving Bihar's rich cultural heritage.
