Story

My name is Rakesh Kumar, and I am the father of a beautiful 7-year-old boy named Aarav. From the day he was born, he became my entire world. Like every parent, I dreamed of watching my son grow, go to school, play with friends, and live a happy life. But life had different plans for us.

When Aarav was just one year old, our world changed forever. He was diagnosed with MPS II (Hunter Syndrome), a rare and progressive genetic disorder. I did not even know such a disease existed. The doctors explained that it would slowly affect his body and mind. That day, I felt fear like I had never felt before, but I promised myself that I would do everything I could for my son.

I work as a taxi driver, driving long hours every day. I earn around ₹15,000 a month, which barely covers our rent, food, and basic needs. My wife stays at home to take care of Aarav full-time because his condition requires constant attention. There is no choice; we cannot leave him alone even for a moment.

Aarav cannot speak or hear like other children. He struggles to walk and often falls. His hands are swollen and weak, making simple tasks like holding a pencil or lifting a glass of water almost impossible. Many times, he just sits quietly, murmuring to himself. As a father, it breaks my heart that he cannot tell me when he is in pain or what he needs.

He wants to go to school. I can see it in his eyes when he watches other children outside. But no school has accepted him because he needs special care and support, care that we simply cannot afford. So my son stays at home, watching the world from a distance, missing out on the childhood every child deserves.

There are days when I feel helpless. No matter how hard I work, it is never enough to give Aarav the treatment, therapy, and support he needs. But I do not give up. A father cannot give up.

This campaign is not just about money; it is about hope. Hope that my son can receive proper medical care. Hope that he can live with comfort and dignity. Hope that he may one day smile without pain.

I ask you, from a father’s heart, to stand with us. Your support can change my son’s life. Together, we can give Aarav a chance, not just to survive, but to live with care, compassion, and dignity.

Every child deserves a childhood.

Please help my son experience his.
