Support Assam Families as They Rebuild Their Homes and Livelihoods

The devastating floods in Assam have left thousands of families struggling to rebuild their lives. What began as heavy rains quickly turned into one of the state's most severe humanitarian crises, washing away homes, farmland, livestock, and livelihoods that families had spent years building.

The disaster has claimed 82 lives, left more than 100 people missing, and affected over 7 lakh people across the state. Entire villages remain devastated, with families living in uncertainty and facing limited access to safe drinking water, nutritious food, healthcare, sanitation, and secure shelter.

While emergency relief has helped many survive, the journey to recovery has only just begun.

Our team visited the flood-affected villages under the Nazira Development Block to understand the extent of the damage and identify the most urgent needs of affected families. We met parents worried about feeding their children, farmers who lost an entire season's crops, elderly people with nowhere to return, and small business owners whose only source of income disappeared overnight.

These visits helped us prepare a community-led recovery plan focused on restoring lives, livelihoods, and dignity.
