My name is Utkarsh Jaiswal, and every morning I wake up with just one prayer in my heart: that my little daughter Akshita survives another day with a little less pain than the one before. She is only 2.5 years old, yet our home is filled with fear instead of laughter. As parents, we dream of watching our children grow, but for us, each day begins with uncertainty and ends with silent tears.
A Diagnosis That Shattered Our World
When Akshita was just one year old, she was diagnosed with Gaucher Disease, a rare and life-threatening genetic disorder. Before we could even process what this disease meant, our world collapsed further; we discovered that our elder daughter is also suffering from the same condition. In a single moment, our future turned into a continuous fight for survival.
A Body Too Fragile for Childhood
Akshita’s tiny body carries unbearable pain. Her spleen is dangerously enlarged, she suffers constant stomach pain, and she vomits every single day. Her haemoglobin level has dropped to an alarming 3.5, a life-threatening condition for a child so young. She cannot walk or sit for long because her body lacks the strength. While other children her age play, run, and laugh, Akshita spends her days lying down, exhausted and hurting.
Every Infection Is a Life-Threatening Battle
Akshita’s immunity is extremely weak. She frequently suffers from pneumonia, high fever, colds, and coughs. Even a minor infection becomes a medical emergency for us. Each hospital visit fills us with fear, wondering if her little body will be able to fight back again. Every illness feels like a battle we are terrified of losing.
A Family Crushed by Medical Burden
I run a small business that barely supports our daily needs, and my wife is a housewife who dedicates every moment to caring for our daughters. Our entire income disappears into hospital visits, medical tests, medicines, and supportive care. Despite our best efforts, the cost of long-term treatment is far beyond what we can afford. We are not fighting for comfort; we are fighting to keep our child alive.
A Plea to Save a Child’s Life
With timely and proper treatment, Akshita has a chance at a better quality of life. She deserves the chance to play, to smile without pain, and to experience a childhood free from constant suffering. I reach out to you not as a businessman, but as a helpless father with folded hands. Your support, no matter how small, can help us continue her treatment and keep hope alive. Even sharing Akshita’s story can bring us closer to saving her life.
Please help us give Akshita the childhood she deserves.
Please help us keep her alive.
