Help Ananya Escape Violence and Start Over Safely

Ananya Sharma is 29 years old. For six years, she endured what no person should ever have to: daily physical abuse, emotional torture, and complete financial control by her husband. She was not allowed to leave the house alone. She was not allowed to speak to her family. She was not allowed to exist on her own terms.

Three weeks ago, Ananya finally escaped with nothing but her 4-year-old daughter and the clothes on their backs.

"Every day, I told myself just one more day. I stayed because I was terrified. I stayed because I had nowhere to go. I stayed because he told me no one would ever believe me."

She is currently staying at a temporary shelter in Delhi. She is safe for now. But the shelter can only house her for 60 more days. Thereafter, she needs a place to live, a way to survive, and the legal support to protect herself and her daughter permanently.

Ananya has a Class 10 certificate and a quiet determination that six years of abuse could not break. She wants to enroll in a vocational training programme. She wants to open a bank account in her own name. She wants her daughter to grow up watching her mother stand on her own two feet.

She just needs a bridge to get there.
