Help Abdul Rehman Fight Gaucher Disease

My name is Abdul Kalam, Rehman's father. I am a daily wage labourer from a small village in Fatehpur district, Uttar Pradesh. Like every parent, I dreamed of seeing my son grow, study, play, and become something in life. Abdul Rehman was a curious child, always looking around, trying to understand the world. But when he was just 1.5 years old, our lives changed forever. Doctors told us that my son has Gaucher disease type 3, a rare and life-threatening genetic disorder that affects his brain and body.

Every Day, I Watch Him Struggle

Today, Abdul Rehman is 12 years old, but he lives a life no child should live. Because of this disease, he is mentally very weak, cannot speak properly, and cannot study like other children. He depends completely on us for even the smallest daily tasks. While children of his age go to school and play with friends, my son quietly suffers. He never complains, but as a father, I can see his strength leaving him day by day.

We Tried Everything We Could

I earn only enough to feed my family by doing daily labour work. Still, we never gave up. With the help of government support, my son received treatment at AIIMS, New Delhi. That treatment gave us hope. For the first time, we felt that maybe our child could live a better life. We held on to that hope tightly.

After COVID, We Lost Everything

After the COVID-19 pandemic, our situation became worse. Due to a complete lack of money, my son’s treatment had to be stopped. The medicines required for Gaucher Disease are extremely expensive and must be taken regularly. Without treatment, my son’s condition is getting worse every day. He is becoming weaker, and I feel helpless watching him suffer because I cannot afford his medicines.

We live in a remote village with no advanced medical facilities. I have exhausted all my savings, borrowed wherever I could, and knocked on every door;  but now, I have nowhere left to go.

I Am Begging for Help to Save My Son

Today, I am asking for your help as a father who has no other option. My son urgently needs funds to restart his treatment and receive his life-saving medicines. I want nothing more than to see my child live with dignity, without pain.
