Severe rainfall and flooding have devastated several parts of Gujarat, leaving families displaced, homes damaged and communities struggling with the aftermath.

According to officials, 35 rain-related deaths were reported over two days, with 29 fatalities in Navsari and Valsad alone. More than 7,000 people were rescued, while over 42,000 residents were relocated to safer places.

Thousands were brought to safety through large-scale rescue operations involving the NDRF, SDRF, Indian Army, Coast Guard, local administration and volunteers.

But rescue is only the first step.

The Floodwater Is Receding. The Struggle Isn't.

Families are now returning to damaged homes and communities where food supplies, clothes, bedding and everyday essentials may have been destroyed or contaminated.

The risk of water-borne diseases is another serious concern, with authorities undertaking cleaning and sanitation measures in affected areas.

For families who have lost their basic necessities, the next few days are critical.
