I’m Aryan Kumar. For the last three years, feeding and caring for street dogs in Patna hasn’t just been something I do; it’s become my life’s work. Every morning before the sun is fully up, I step out with bags of food, bottles of water, and the hope that today I’ll make someone’s day a little easier.

I didn’t start this with a plan or a project name. I started it because one morning I saw a tiny puppy curled up near a garbage heap. He was so weak that he couldn’t lift his head. People walked past him without even a glance. I knelt, offered him some food, and as he ate slowly, I felt something open in my heart – a responsibility to be there for those who have no one. That moment looking into his trusting eyes is why I keep showing up every day.

Some days, I see big packs of dogs fighting for scraps of rotis. Other days, I find one injured and trembling, too afraid to even approach. These aren’t just animals on the street; they are living beings with fear, pain, and hope. And I’ve learnt that a simple bowl of food can give them strength to wag their tail again, to trust a human once more, to survive another day.

But this work isn’t easy. Food costs add up quickly, especially when we’re feeding dozens of dogs in different areas of the city. Sometimes a dog needs more than food; they need first aid or medicine, especially if they’ve been hit by traffic or are badly sick. I do what I can with the resources I have, but the truth is: your support makes it possible for me to reach more dogs, more often.

I share videos and photos of our feeding drives so you can see the change happening – the wagging tails, the relieved faces, and the dogs that come back every morning because they know someone cares. It’s not just about the food; it’s about presence, about letting them feel that someone sees them.
