Help Amit Sood Walk Again After Life Changing Accident

Amit Sood is not just our colleague in the Pharma team; he is our star performer, our most dependable teammate and above all, a kind-hearted human being who has always put others before himself.

On 6th February 2026, while returning home from work, Amit met with a devastating road accident. As he was getting down from a Rapido bike, he lost balance, fell onto the road and within seconds, a truck ran over his right leg. What followed was a nightmare no one could have imagined. He was rushed to Fortis Hospital, Mohali, in critical condition. The medical reports confirm severe fractures, vascular damage, acute limb ischaemia and massive blood loss. Doctors performed emergency surgeries to save his life. Despite their best efforts, the damage to his right leg was beyond repair. To stop the infection and save him from life-threatening complications, doctors had to amputate his leg.

He is the only earning member of his family. Back home in Himachal Pradesh, his elderly mother depends entirely on him, emotionally and financially. He had moved away from home, working hard in this Pharma company, building dreams not just for himself but for his mother’s secure future. Today, that same young man who worked tirelessly, who never said no to responsibility, is lying in a hospital bed, learning to live without a limb.

The surgeries are not the end of this battle.

He now requires prolonged hospitalisation, advanced wound care, multiple follow-ups, rehabilitation, physiotherapy and most importantly, a prosthetic leg so that he can stand again with dignity. The total medical expenses have already crossed lakhs, and despite insurance and family savings being exhausted, we are still short of money for his ongoing treatment, post-operative care and prosthetic rehabilitation. For someone who has always given 100% to his work and family, this is the time we must give back.

I have seen Amit stay late to finish targets. I have seen him help teammates without expecting anything in return. I have seen him talk about his mother with pride and love. He carried his family’s hopes on his shoulders and now he needs us to help him carry on.

This is not just about medical bills.

This is about helping a 29-year-old son walk again.

This is about giving a mother her only support back.

This is about standing beside someone who would have done the same for us without hesitation. No contribution is small. Even the smallest amount can help rebuild Amit’s life.
