Story

My name is Yasmine, Founder of the Jasmin People Welfare Trust, Karur District, and this journey began with a simple belief: no human being should sleep hungry, uncared for, or forgotten. Every day, we see elderly people abandoned on roadsides, persons with disabilities struggling without support, and mentally unwell individuals left to survive on the streets. By the grace of God, we step forward wherever we can, offering breakfast, drinking water, groceries, clothes, and most importantly, dignity. What may seem like a small act to the world becomes a life-changing blessing for someone who has nothing.

I still remember the day we met Suseela Amma. She had no proper house, no stable income, and often struggled even for one proper meal a day. Her voice trembled when she asked us if we could help her with rice and groceries for one month. She wasn’t asking for luxuries; she was asking for survival. When we delivered the essential supplies to her, her eyes filled with tears. That moment reminded me why this mission matters. For someone who has lost hope, even a bag of rice can restore faith in humanity.

There are also elderly grandfathers and grandmothers who come to us saying they have no family support and no means to earn. They struggle daily just to arrange rice and basic groceries. One such elderly couple approached us after suffering silently for weeks. Through your support, we were able to provide them with rice and essential provisions. The relief and gratitude on their faces cannot be described in words. To them, it was not charity; it was reassurance that they are not alone.

For the past two years, our Trust has continuously served destitute elderly people and persons with disabilities, doing everything within our capacity. In the last few months, we have expanded our efforts to support underprivileged children as well, providing them with new clothes and essential items. When we dress a child in new clothes for the first time, their smile shines brighter than anything else. That smile is not just happiness; it is confidence, dignity, and the feeling of being valued.

None of this journey has been walked alone. Compassionate hearts like Brother Balaji from Tiruppur District and many other well-wishers have stood beside us to serve the needy. Together, we distribute food to roadside dwellers, support struggling mothers, and bring hope to children who deserve a better tomorrow. Every act of kindness creates a ripple that touches many lives.

But there are still many more waiting. Many more Suseela Ammas. Many more abandoned elders. Many more children need someone to believe in them. I humbly invite you to join our mission. Your contribution, whether big or small, can feed a hungry stomach, clothe a child, or restore dignity to an abandoned elder. Helping the poor is equal to serving God, and together, we can ensure that no one in our community feels forgotten.

With faith and gratitude,

Yasmine
