My name is Prabhat, a 55-year-old father of four. For years, I lived a simple, honest life in Muzaffarnagar, running a small shop that I built with my own hands. It wasn’t much, but it was enough to feed my children, educate them, and dream of a peaceful future. Every day of my life was spent working hard so that my family never slept hungry. That shop was not just a business; it was my pride, my hope, and the pillar of my family.
The Night Everything Turned to Ash
But during the 2013 Muzaffarnagar riots, everything I built over decades was destroyed in a single night. My shop was burnt down, the place where my dreams lived, where my hope stood. I had taken a loan to build that shop, and today, the shop is gone, but the debt still suffocates me. Overnight, I became a man standing in the ashes of his own hard work, with no income and no way to rebuild. Even after years of patience and struggle, I am left with nothing but fear and helplessness.
A Father Breaking Under New Tragedy
Just when I thought life couldn’t be any harder, another painful blow struck my family. My young daughter has been diagnosed with a serious brain disorder, and she needs urgent treatment that I cannot afford. Watching her cry in pain while I stand powerless is the deepest wound a father can feel. There are nights when I sit awake, staring at the ceiling, wondering how much more I am expected to endure. I reached a point where the weight of life felt so heavy that I nearly gave up… but then I remembered, a father cannot quit.
A Heart Filled With Fear… and Hope
Today, my home survives on hope alone. We struggle for basic necessities, for medicines, for even a little stability. Sometimes I feel the darkness closing in the debt, the pain, the helplessness – but I keep reminding myself that my children need me to stand. I have never asked for help in my entire life, but today, I am standing here with folded hands, humbly reaching out for support. Not because I am weak… but because I want to fight for my family again.
Your Support Can Help Me Stand Again
Your kindness can bring light back into our home. With your help, I can start my daughter’s treatment, bring food and basic needs to my family, reduce the crushing debt, and slowly rebuild the small shop that kept us alive once. Even a small contribution can be a lifeline for us in this darkest phase. I am not asking for charity; I am asking for a chance, a chance to save my daughter, to rebuild my life, and to give my children the hope they have lost. Please hold my hand… Help me stand again.
