Save Safia’s Life: Fighting End-Stage Kidney Failure

For years, my family has been fighting this battle together. We’ve endured pain, fear, and countless hospital visits; always holding on to hope that my mother, Safia Khatun, would get better one day. But now, her condition has become critical, and we need urgent help to get her operated on as soon as possible.

My mother has been suffering since 2012 from Severe Bilateral Grade III Medical Renal Disease, which means both her kidneys are failing. Her latest medical report from Dew Care Hospital & Research Centre, Nagaon, shows renal cysts in both kidneys, along with gallbladder stones, sludge formation, and bladder inflammation (cystitis).

The doctors have made it clear; a kidney transplant is her only hope for survival. But the procedure is extremely costly, and there are no transplant facilities available in our town. The hospitals that can perform the surgery are asking for an amount we simply cannot afford.

“I was running my small hardware business, but when my mother’s illness worsened, I had to leave everything to take care of her. Somehow, we’ve been managing all these years; but now, it’s becoming impossible."

Endless Pain, Unending Struggles

My mother goes through unbearable pain every day. She has to undergo dialysis three times a week, along with regular tests and medicines that cost more than we can manage. My father’s small pension barely covers the travel and basic expenses, and I’ve already sold what little we had to keep her treatment going.

Still, she continues to fight; because she wants to live, to see her children safe and happy again.

But now, her condition is worsening faster than we can respond. Without the transplant, her body won’t be able to hold on for long.
