My name is Santram. I used to be a farmer. I used to take land on rent, work hard on it, and earn with dignity. My wife and I worked together, and with our combined efforts, we were able to take care of our family of six. We sent our children to a private school, dreaming that they would have a better future than us. Our life was simple, honest, and happy.
The Day My Life Started Slipping Away
Then slowly, without warning, leprosy entered my life. First, there was pain. Then numbness. Then my hands started changing. The disease spread day by day, taking away my strength, my ability to work, and my confidence. Today, my hands are badly affected, and I cannot do even basic work. Watching my body weaken every day feels like I am dying slowly while still alive.
I tried government treatment; I tried everything. Could
I went to a government hospital and started treatment. I followed every instruction, hoping to recover and return to work. But my condition did not improve. As the disease worsened, I was forced to go to a private hospital, where doctors said better treatment is possible, but the cost is far beyond my capacity. I am a farmer with no savings left. Every visit adds to my helplessness.
My Family Is Suffering Because I Cannot Earn
Today, my family is breaking along with me. My wife struggles to manage the house with her income. My children are very small; my eldest daughter is only in Class 5. They look at me with hope, asking when things will become normal again. I have no answer. As a father, nothing hurts more than seeing your children’s future slipping away because you are sick and powerless.
I Am Not Asking for Sympathy; I Am Asking for a Chance to Live
I want to live; not just for myself, but for my children and my family. I want to get proper treatment before this disease takes everything from me. I want to work again, stand on my feet, and give my children the life they deserve. Your support can help me access treatment, save my hands, and rebuild my broken life. Please help me live.
